Welcome

Treasurer and owner of the most extensive basic “Jef of Wanroy” pigeon race.

At the end of the sixties and at the beginning of the seventies the Limburgh pigeon lover Jef of Wanroy had some tremendours results on the heavy flights. Friend and foe were amazed how smooth these pigeons seemed to fly these marathon flights.

I was at once interested in these pigeons, all the more because my sports friend Mr Ben Bartels from Apeldoorn had bought some pigeons of this noble race via a gentleman called Jan Lijnders from Broekhuizervorst. Mr Lijnders, a friend and neighbour of Jef’s, had, at the time, a dovecote full of “van Wanroys”. When Mr van Wanroy died, the entire colony moved to Mr Anton van Haaren. He had been breeding these pigeons for a couple of years and next sold them to pigeon lovers, called Mr Klaas Oosterhof and Mr Jo Hendriks.

However, before this took place Mr Ben Bartels and I bought, via Mr Frans van Geel, a healthy small pigeon of this excellent stock. We spent quite a fortune on this dove but, on second thoughts, it was a purchase that yielded rich results. Many good pigeons were bred, but our investment also resulted into many first-class pigeons. Afterwards, we used many more pigeons from Mr Jan Lijnders to broaden the basis, which was necessary to prevent an extreme form of inbreeding. At the end of the nineties and at the beginning of this century I managed to obtain, via my sports friend Mr Hans Eijerkamp, some sixteen grandchildren of the “Black Giant”. This pigeon was not only a fantastic flyer in the night (the first national Bergerac is sufficient proof of its competence), but it also proved to be a god-given breeder. The “Black Giant” is a product of the bloodline of the legendary “van Wanroy 90”. The “Kleine Donkere”, which won the title of the best race pigeon of Holland, was a result from the “90” bloodline.

Also the Small Dark, that conquered the title for best pigeon of the Netherlands  came from the line of the ,,90”. Also of these topper sit a number of grandchildren in my cultivate shack. In short we can safely let us assume that the race of Wanroy through the blood of many national winners and toppers flows. Next to the voice of Wanroy sit there in my cultivate shack yet a number of pigeons of the ancient Jan Aarden breed. It's  just these pigeons that will self easaly cross with the of Wanroy pigeons. Through Mr. Hans Eijerkamp came two pigeons from a son of the Spot of Martha from Yellow through Mr. Bram Walpot came a granddaughter of the Perpignan duivin. Also through Bram Walpot came there three couples Mr. Cor de Heyde pigeons all from direct Mr. Cor de Heyde pigeons. Hans van der Sluijs came a daughter from the second national Barcelona, all these pigeons have a thing common, they are all of the noble fondras of the old Steenbergse kind.

It will become clear to everyone that this cultivate shack, with these qualities has a great future ahead, and perhaps I can mean something for you .
